UZUME TAIKO: AN INTIMATE PORTRAIT - Part 2

Virtual Concert Event: SATURDAY, OCTOBER 23 at 7pm PDT

Uzume Taiko celebrates Culture Days 2021 with a specially filmed performance! “Uzume Taiko: An Intimate Portrait” Part 2 is a collection of five songs that were recorded during the Spring of 2021. The 40-minute Event captures the taiko drummers up close and personal in the intimate Taiko Studio setting. Join us for a potpourri of powerful drum beats and choreographed movement. Taiko drummers performing in Part 2 are Jason Overy, Bonnie Soon, Jordy Riley and Boyd Seiichi Grealy. This Event is free or pay-what-you-may. Donors receive charitable tax donation receipts. Uzume Taiko Drum Group Society

The Uzume Taiko Drum Group Society was established in 1989 to create and present new works for taiko, especially in collaboration with other performers and to educate audiences about taiko music. Activities include the development and presentation of shows for elementary and secondary school audiences and workshops for people of all ages and the creation and public presentation of new cross-cultural taiko music and repertoire.
