Directions: Your camp is located at The Music Box 1564 Argyle Ave, West Vancouver. The Music Box is located at John Lawson Park, just over the train tracks between 15th and 16th Avenue. Access to the Music Box - through the side door, facing east, towards the Lions Gate Bridge. You will be in the downstairs studio, take a left through the hallway on the ground floor.

Charcoal Drawing Workshop for beginners
Explore the rich, dramatic medium of charcoal in this engaging drawing class. Suitable for beginners and artists of all levels, this course will teach you the fundamentals of working with charcoal to create expressive, textured drawings.
Charcoal material basics: different types of charcoal sticks, how to hold and control the medium
- Essential charcoal techniques: hatching, crosshatching, blending, and more
- Rendering values, edges, and textures with charcoal
- Drawing still life compositions using charcoal
- Sketching landscapes and scenes en plein air (outdoors) using charcoal
You'll have the opportunity to practice these skills through guided exercises and independent drawing projects. The class will provide a supportive, creative environment for you to experiment with charcoal and develop your drawing abilities.
All necessary drawing materials, including charcoal, and drawing boards, will be supplied. Just bring your sketch book (must be mixed media paper), creativity and enthusiasm to discover the expressive potential of this timeless medium!
