CAMH is Canada's largest mental health teaching hospital and one of the world's leading research centres in its field. A long-standing member of the City’s vibrant West Queen West neighbourhood, CAMH’s history dates back to 1850s. Starting in 2005, CAMH embarked on a bold, multi-phase redevelopment project to build a new kind of hospital for the 21st century to improve the patient experience and also integrate with the community. Welcoming park spaces, extended streets, art installations and pathways create multiple access points for the public to engage with CAMH and in doing so, help challenge stigma and break down barriers for people living with mental illness.
