Join the Scugog Shores Museum Village and the Lake Scugog Historical Society in celebrating a history of Arts and Culture in Scugog!

Visit the Museum Friday September 20th and Saturday September 21th from 11am - 4pm free of charge.

Select Museum Village buildings will be open free of charge with various displays throughout.

Explore a variety of crafts, handiwork, artists, and artisan pieces including the works of Jimmie Frise, Mississaugas of Scugog Island beadwork, quillwork and basketry, quilting, weaving, and more!

Scugog Shores Museum Village and Archives + Lake Scugog Historical Society

The Scugog Shores Museum Village and Archives is operated by the Township of Scugog and is open seasonally from May - end of August.

The Village shows what daily life was like in Scugog from the mid to late 1800s. We preserve, research, interpret and exhibit artifacts related to the cultural and natural history of the Township of Scugog area. The Village includes: 11 restored buildings, Heritage flower, herb and vegetable gardens, and the Ojibway Heritage Interpretive Lands

The Lake Scugog Historical Society is managed by a volunteer board of directors independent of the Township of Scugog and was founded by local citizens in 1969 to stimulate interest in local history by holding events of historical interest, to support the preservation of historical buildings and cemeteries and the erecting of markers on historic sites. In 1974 LSHS founded and then managed the Scugog Shores Museum until 2005. In 2009 LSHS partnered with the Museum to open the new Archival Centre at the Scugog Community Centre, which has since been transferred to the Scugog Shores Museum Village Schoolhouse.
