About
Delve into the profound artistry of Peter Reitsma, whose diverse collection of paintings and drawings delves into the collective human impact on our planet. With whimsical portrayals that celebrate the sacred, spiritual, mythic, and memorable aspects of the land, his work serves as a love song to our world. Peter's animal paintings invite viewers to contemplate the concept of 'wildness' among Earth's creatures, while others envision a future where humanity's ideas may safeguard our planet for generations to come. Born in post-WWII Netherlands and immigrating to Canada at a young age, Reitsma's art reflects the lingering echoes of hope and angst from his parents' generation. A Sheridan College of Art and Design graduate, his paintings have graced exhibitions across southern Ontario, offering thought-provoking perspectives on our world.
