About

Starting with shearing our alpacas at Round House Alpaca Farm, their luxurious fleece goes through many stages to the finished product. The fleece must be skirted and then washed, carded and rolled into roving. The roving can then be dyed, or left natural colour, and spun into alpaca wool.

This year we have expanded our horizons, and just began spinning some of the roving ourselves. We have been dying the lighter yarns for a few years now, giving a wider variety of colours to work with.

The finished yarn is then knit by the family into unique, one of a kind, delightfully warm hats, scarves shawls and other apparel and there will be many finished items for sale during the tour.
