The Naad Malhaar Concert
Date and time
Darts Hill Garden Park
Offered in English.
Join accomplished musicians, Amarjeet Singh, Bruce Harding, and Baljit Singh for a show that is a perfect marriage of setting and song: The Naad Malhaar Concert (English translation: Water Music). Filmed in Surrey’s picturesque Darts Hills Garden Park, this accomplished trio from Indian Standard Time will delight audiences with the enchanting and soothing sounds of the tabla, flute, and dilruba.
What would have happened if Bob Marley had spent time soaking in the musical traditions of Delhi? Or if Canadian rock legends Rush fell in love with the ancient traditions of ghazal and light classical Indian music? Enter Indian Standard Time! Indian Standard Time (IST) is an electrifying collective of musicians from Canada, India, Malaysia and the UK, all teaching and working at the Naad Centre for the Performing and Visual Arts in Surrey, BC, Canada, in the heart of the largest Punjabi community outside of India.
This concert with the Indian Standard Time Trio represents the coming together of several departments across the City of Surrey: Civic Theatres, Parks, and Special Events.
Check back on October 16 for the link to this livestream, which will be available until October 25.
