About

Ning Yang, a local Oakville based artist with an interest in culture, storytelling, and image-making, presents her mural, Inspired by the spirit of sportsmanship that takes place between the walls of the River Oaks Community Centre. the artist offers, "this illustrated mural features a solo skater finding companionship in the rhythm of routine practices. The process of self-improvement in any field can often feel lonely, this illustration explores the sense of purpose competition can give to each individual.”

Ning Yang is a participant in the CreateSpace Public Art Residency, a program in partnership with Sustainable Thinking and Expression on Public Space (STEPS) and the Town of Oakville. Her digital illustration at the River Oaks Community Centre reflects her dedication to capturing the essence of personal growth and the unique camaraderie found in sportsmanship.
