Anduhyaun means “Our Home” in the Ojibwa language. Since 1973 Anduhyaun Inc. has become home to thousands of women and children recovering from the traumas of violence and homelessness.

Each year the event focuses on a different Truth and Reconciliation Calls To Action. This year's Call To Action is #41 (41. We call upon the federal government, in consultation with Aboriginal organizations, to appoint a public inquiry into the causes of, and remedies for, the disproportionate victimization of Aboriginal women and girls. The inquiry’s mandate would include:

i. Investigation into missing and murdered Aboriginal women and girls

ii. Links to the intergenerational legacy of residential schools.)

As we participate in this event, let us reflect on how settlers and non-Indigenous people have benefitted from the original intentions of the Treaties put forth and how our actions of today may have a positive impact on the women using the shelter services.
