About

It’s July 22, 1896, and Dalnavert, the elegant Carlton Street home of Sir Hugh John Macdonald, is buzzing. Lady Macdonald is enlisting a friend to help plan the debut of her step-daughter, Daisy, now back home from studying in England. Everyone who is anyone in Winnipeg society will be invited. Sir Charles and Lady Tupper drop in for a visit. Below stairs, Minnie, the cook, is training the new maid, Millie — and rapidly losing patience.

More than a tour: it's an audio play that allows visitors to immerse in life as it was once lived at Dalnavert Museum. The play takes place over the course of a summer day, letting visitors experience a day in the life of the family and their servants. Visitors learn about the family, their lifestyles and attitudes, and also about the architecture of the home.

Tour length is 50 minute
