About

Join us for an exciting journey into the realm of creativity! We are thrilled to invite you to our two-hour workshop, where we will explore the wonders of inspiration and how it can ignite your creative passions.

Discover the transformative power of having something that truly inspires and motivates you. With the right tools and mindset, you can unleash your creative potential and bring your projects to life. This workshop is designed to share invaluable ideas and practices that an artist uses to find inspiration, themes, and meaningful projects to embark upon.

Finding inspiration is not a daunting task; it simply requires knowing where and how to look. In this interactive session, you will delve into the beauty of your immediate surroundings, the people you connect with, and the rich tapestry of your personal history to tap into your own wellspring of creativity.

But we won't just stop at theory! You will participate in exercises designed to unlock your unique creative process. By embracing these techniques, you'll uncover how anyone, regardless of their circumstances, can cultivate a vibrant and fulfilling creative practice.

So, come join us for an inspiring and transformative experience! Together, let's awaken the artist within, and embark on a creative journey that will leave you feeling empowered, motivated, and brimming with new ideas. MTM Hobbes

MTM Hobbes has been blessed to have had a diverse creative history.

She started her career with comics, writing and drawing strips for Vancouver’s Rice Paper Magazine and other local ethnic publications.

Upon graduating from Vancouver Film School’s New Media Program, she started making interactive video product demos and teaching software workshops in the Software and Web Development Industries. After leaving the software industry, Margarita worked with the National Film Board of Canada’s Marketing Department which allowed her to work with people from socially diverse backgrounds. In her spare time, she kept up her creative endeavours exploring illustration and product development. She also produced, filmed and edited a short pet adoption segment for TV while volunteering at Tri-Cities Community Television.

Eventually, Margarita found a love for painting and creating mixed-media visual art. Presently, her artworks are being displayed around BC while she offers art lessons in her local area. Margarita is passionate about educating people about creativity and has published a series of podcasts highlighting fashion designers, actors, producers, woodworkers, crafters, and other creatives in her community.

Margarita also volunteers at a special needs school in Coquitlam. Her talents in photography and design help support the school’s excellent Music Program by providing them with imagery for marketing materials and their music albums.
