In a Few More Words

Art practically runs through Yafa Gowaily’s veins. Coming from a family of artists, she grew up surrounded by this form of self-expression and thus, getting drawn to its allure became an inevitable fact. For Yafa, art is now an indispensable part of her identity. From performing arts to fine arts, Gowaily has experimented with it all.

Yafa graduated with a degree in Fine Arts and a Filmmaking Diploma from Alexandria University in Egypt after finding solace behind the camera. She has gone on to curate a diverse portfolio of films and documentaries, which revolve around various topics and issues she sought to speak loudly about. Gowaily, who is known to carry that childlike wonder in her eyes wherever she goes is an active member of many NGOs and clubs that engage in charity and social work.
