About

Join us in celebrating World Migratory Bird Day

Saturday October 8th, 1-3pm at Willow Park Ecology Centre, Norval

Each fall and spring 1000’s of birds migrate across the planet and through Halton Hills. We invite you and your family to join us Thanksgiving weekend to:

-Learn about local and migratory birds,

-Give thanks for the water, the land, and the birds who live and fly through here, and

-Connect with people and organizations who are helping to make Halton Hills Bird Friendly

Chantal Garneau, of Halton Hills Nature will welcome us, introduce the Bird Friendly Halton Hills team, and present a “Bird Friendly City Certificate” from Nature Canada. We will then break into smaller groups and circulate through three activities. After the third activity we will have some time to network and connect before concluding the event.

Activities:

1. Share songs, stories, and bird lore & pledge to be a Water Protector with Dale

2. Draw Birds with Jenny from the Raise-an-Artist project www.theraiseanartistproject.com

3. Go on a bird walk with birders from the Halton/North Peel Naturalist Club www.hnpnc.com
