About
SaskMusic is pleased to present a series of FREE music workshops as part of Culture Days in Saskatchewan. These workshops are intended to give an overview and introduction of different aspects of being a music artist with tips, tricks, and best practices for developing your music career. Whether you are just starting out in your musical journey or an experienced artist, these workshops will have something for you!
SaskMusic's Culture Days events have been made possible in part through the support of Creative Saskatchewan, FACTOR, the Government of Canada, Canada's private radio broadcasters, and the Weyburn Public Library.
In this interactive, beginner-friendly songwriting workshop, we will be working on some tips, techniques, and tricks that will help ignite your songwriting skills, whether it is in melody writing, lyrics, or basic chord progressions. Everyone is welcome, from beginners to seasoned professionals.
Dara Schindelka is a celebrated Saskatchewan musician. She has five albums under her belt as well as numerous nominations and awards from both Saskatchewan and beyond. Dara has solo projects and is a member of the four piece soul/roots band, Back Seat Driver, 1/2 of the fiddle and folk duo Range Road Girls, and part of the country roots duo Northern Air. When not performing, Dara has a busy schedule as an arts educator for Regina public schools and as a singing instructor with the University of Regina Conservatory.
