About

Immerse yourself in the soulful and hauntingly beautiful world of Fado, Portugal's acclaimed musical tradition. This special performance features the captivating vocals of celebrated fadista Jennifer Bettencourt, seamlessly interwoven with the distinct, brilliant shimmer of the guitarra portuguesa played by professional artist and cultural educator Simon Arruda. Providing the rich, traditional foundation is Pedro Joel on viola de fado (classical acoustic guitar). Together, this exceptional trio will guide the audience through a dynamic musical journey across the full emotional spectrum—from vibrant, spirited rhythms that celebrate Portuguese heritage to deep, evocative ballads steeped in saudade.

Q&A to follow the performance.

Registration Information:

• Space is limited, registration recommended but not required.

• Offered by donation for Ontario Culture Days. Proceeds support PAMA’s Creative Access Fund.
