Built in 1970, this award-winning building is a fine example of Brutalist/Modernism architecture. Acting as a community space, the library is free for everyone and offers books, movies, music, magazines + more!
ACTIVITY: Public makerspace, history room, behind-the-scenes tours at 1:30 and 3:30 p.m.
Doors Open Burlington takes place on Saturday, Sept. 28, 2019 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Visit heritage sites, noteworthy buildings, and interesting locations - free of charge. Many of these buildings and locations will offer special activities during the day. For Burlington, Doors Open provides a unique opportunity to view the city from a new perspective and celebrate the cultural importance of the sites to the community. Other sites include: Archaeological Services Inc. (ASI), Burlington Camera and Digital, Burlington Radio Control Modelers, Église Saint-Philippe, Freeman Station, Halton Mosque, Joseph Brant Museum, Nickel Brook Brewing Co., NUVO Network, Royal Botanical Gardens, Skyway Wastewater Treatment Plant, and St. Paul's Presbyterian Church.
