About
Krystyna Sadej's tapestries and multimedia art are focusing on environmental art - which involves creating tapestries made of plastic and other recycled material. Glacier Cave installation is part of her ongoing “Glaciers and Icebergs” series motivated by her fascination with the structure of glaciers, and by the extreme melting of these incredible ancient natural wonders.
For this digital exhibit, music is provided by international mezzo-soprano, multi-media artist and creator Katarzyna Sadej, who is Krystyna’s daughter and also an environmental artist.
“Glaciers are melting around our planet at unprecedented rates because of climate change, and I wanted to raise awareness for the plight of our world’s glaciers, while also making art out of recyclable materials” (KS)

With my newest mixed media - fiber artwork, I hope to bring attention to the need to protect our environment and to increase our self-consciousness of our responsibility for environmental waste. Although my work reflects my concern for nature and the ecosystem, it is also a combination of thoughts, feelings, and experiences that are a result of my life in the universe. Inspired by the cosmos and experimenting with new woven and non-woven techniques and recycled materials (plastic foil, video tape, transparent packing tape, synthetic yarn), I created work that focuses on form, texture, and light.
