About

When Trisha Lee's daughter announces "I'm not all girl, I am a boy, too", the small town Texas widow struggles to understand and accept the truth. Hilarious and heartfelt, The Pink Unicorn stars local actress Kendra Hesketh in a filmed play performance in collaboration with OSIF.

There will be an artist-talk following the presentation.

This is a family-friendly viewing with a recommended age of 14+

Tickets to the event are free, with donations gratefully accepted and going directly to New Vintage Theatre. Confirming your reservation in advance is strongly recommended as space is limited due to covid-19 safety measures. Reserve here: https://rotarycentreforthearts.com/events/event/77602/

Please note: masks are mandatory in the Mary Irwin Theatre and social distancing will be in effect. Visit www.rotarycentreforthearts.com for more information about covid-19 safety measures at the venue.

This screening is possible through a partnership between New Vintage Theatre, OSIF, the Okanagan Regional Library. It is one of the films selected to be a part of the 2020 LGBTQ2+ focused 'Out and Proud Film Festival', a Rotary Centre for the Arts presentation taking place during Kelowna Pride celebrations.

New Vintage Theatre: We are a group of professional artists who bring new, innovative contemporary theatre to Kelowna. We believe theatre should be accessible, engaging and exciting for all. Our team brings a wealth of experience in theatre and film; our plays have been performed at Kelowna Community Theatre, The Black Box Theatre, Rotary Centre For The Arts, Creekside Theatre, The Vibrant Vine Winery and Delta Grand Okanagan. We also have a parody television soap opera, AS THE SUN BURNS, that airs on SHAW TV Okanagan.

New Vintage Theatre also proudly produces the Kelowna Fan Experience (KFX). | OSIF: Okanagan Society of Independent Filmmaking (OSIF) is a non-profit, artist-run cooperative committed to independent film and filmmaking offering artistic development, screenings, seminars, discussions, equipment access and hands-on experience in cinematic arts production to professionals, beginners and all those in between. | Okanagan Regional Library: The Okanagan Regional Library (ORL) is your library – your most economical, sustainable, and relevant source for information and entertainment.
