Author Brennor Jacobs discusses his new book, Akhwatsirehkó:wa - My Big Family. Watch a lacrosse demonstration and meet players from the Haudenosaunee Nationals and Toronto Rock.

Attend a live reading and conversation with author Brennor Jacobs at 11am as he discusses his new book, Akhwatsirehkó:wa - My Big Family. Lacrosse players from the Haudenosaunee Nationals, Toronto Rock and other professional lacrosse teams discuss the history and cultural significance of lacrosse and stick traditions and demonstrate lacrosse play.

Participate in an interactive lacrosse experience, meet the players, and collect autographs from 2-4pm.

Akhwatsirehko:wa - My Big Family explores how the game of lacrosse has spiritually, emotionally and intellectually aided players from all around the world, through their differing experiences within the sport. Dive into the world of lacrosse from an Indigenous perspective and discover the effects and impact the Creator's game has had on those who have come to play the sport around the world. Winner of the Mind, Body and Spirit category of the 2021 Next Generation Indie Book Awards.

Brennor Jacobs has spent most of his professional life helping to preserve Indigenous culture and language. A member of the Oneida Turtle Clan, he is the 2021 recipient of Brock University’s Outstanding Young Alumni Award.
