Each fall, the Saskatchewan Library Association hosts the Book Spine Poetry Contest overlapping with Saskatchewan Library Week. What is book spine poetry? Book spine poetry is a free verse poem composed using the titles written on the spines of physical books, and then stacking the books on top of one another. The 2022 Book Spine Poetry Contest will be held from September 9 to November 1, 2022! Watch for our online submission form, which will be posted here once the contest opens. Prizes are awarded in four categories: -Children ages 5-8 -Children ages 9-11 -Teens ages 12-18 -Adult (19 and older) The winner in each age category receives a $100 Indigo gift card! Second and third place in each category also receive prizes. For more information on this program, email slaprograms@sasktel.net.
