About

Take a step back in time as you learn more about our community through songs and stories. This culture days event, features the Mission Record Storytelling project song writers who will be showcasing the songs they wrote inspired by the Mission Record Newspaper. The first half will give us a chance to shine a spotlight on two artists from the community who are pursuing their own creative practices with passion, vision and dedication. Cheryl Wiens will talk about her work meeting and photographing people in the community, and filmmaker Jay S. Saroya will share his work capturing the stunning natural spaces around Mission through his storytelling. After a brief intermission, the Mission Record musicians will take the stage.

Admission is free!

City of Mission Arts & Culture

Culture is central to community identity. It’s the music we listen to, the food we enjoy, how we move our bodies, the sharing of our stories – it is our common expression and experience of the world around us.

Mission Parks, Recreation & Culture is excited to support, foster and capture Mission’s identity through events and activities that bring us joy, contemplation, celebration and most importantly, bring us together.
