About
Katie + Gunner Gallery’s feature exhibitions include two local Winnipeg artists Brad Bamford and Jonathan Green as well as a preview of the upcoming 67th Cape Dorset Annual Print Collection for 2025.
The 2025 Cape Dorset Annual Print Collection includes 33 new limited-edition prints from 14 Inuit artists. Our preview will offer a sneak peak of 10 pieces from the upcoming collection - official full release on Saturday, October 18th, 2025.
Brad Bamford is a painter whose hyper-realist style creates the illusion of depth and photo-realism that trick the eye. In fact, his paintings of poster/billboards begin with a photo which is in turn painted in such detail that viewers believe they are looking at the same archive of cultural detritus that the artist sought to preserve.
Jonathan Green's print making series imagines a structural scaffolding system designed to keep boulders in place in the mountainous terrains he spends time in. Inspired by his experience of an earthquake while hiking in the mountains, the pieces are a study of the natural world with an illusionistic application of manmade architectural supports imagined as a safety net as humans inhabit the wild.
Organizer
Katie + Gunner Gallery
Katie + Gunner Gallery is a contemporary art gallery of Inuit art and designer art toys. Throughout the year, our exhibitions highlight Inuit art, thoughtfully curated around meaningful themes and the work of Inuit artists. A few times a year we leave room for talented local and Canadian artists' work that inspires us. We also stock an ever-changing collection of limited-edition designer art toys.
