About

Alana Morouney

The Dream-O-Scope is a kaleidoscope concealed within a stationary tourist scenic viewer. Typically found at landmarks, these permanent metal devices house coin-operated binoculars or telescopes. The Dream-O-Scope offers viewers a small gesture of playfulness as they find unexpected reflections of he familiar landscapes around them and the ones they find within themselves.

Alana Morouney (they/she) is a textile artist and sculptor in Mi’kma’ki/Sackville, New Brunswick. Their interactive sculptures use simple mechanics and materials that draw the hand to deliver unexpectedly pleasant outcomes. Familiar materials and mediums carefully clothe subtext with tenderness.
