Yukon Beringia Interpretive Centre
Discover a land that time (and ice) forgot! The Yukon Beringia Interpretive Centre focuses on one of the few places in Canada to remain ice free during the ice age: central and northern Yukon. This unique region, part of a larger landmass known as Beringia, was home to incredible ice age animals like woolly mammoths, giant short-faced bears, saiga antelope, and steppe bison.
Step back in time with exhibits like a remarkably preserved 57,000-year-old mummified wolf pup, a life-sized scimitar cat, and a detailed model of the Bluefish Caves, one of the oldest archaeological sites in North America. Don’t miss our feature film Beringia: Crossroads of Continents, which shares the latest Yukon fossil discoveries that are reshaping what we know about the ice age world.
