About
Come and enjoy a creative and collaborative afternoon of improv as we celebrate and build on each others ideas with the 'yes, and' mindset! Start by warming up your imagination and then jump into short, guided scenes in a safe and supportive atmosphere. With professional improvisors helping to guide you into simple exercises and scenarios, you'll enjoy the laughter and levity that comes along with making theatre up on-the-spot!
Normally, these jams are closed to anyone under the age of 19, but for Culture Days we're changing it up! For this special jam, we're welcoming improvisers aged 10 and older, as long as a parent or guardian is present and participating!

The Improv Centre is a non-profit improv comedy theatre located on Granville Island in Vancouver, BC. For over 40 years, we’ve been dedicated to bringing people together through the art of improvisation. Our mandate is to foster laughter, connection, and community by offering high-quality improv performances, classes, and opportunities for people of all backgrounds to explore their creativity.
Year-round, we produce a wide range of shows featuring professional and emerging improvisers, run improv classes for beginners to experts, and host free education workshops – just like our Community Jams! These jams provide a welcoming space for improvisers to build confidence, hone their skills, and share the joy of improv on our stage.
