Picture hundreds (literally hundreds!) of quirky, creative scarecrows popping up all over Meaford, decorating streets, storefronts, lampposts, and more. It’s small-town charm meets big-time imagination, and the best part? Everyone’s invited to join the fun.

The event kicks off with a classic parade that’s anything but ordinary. We’re talking floats, live music, costumes, community spirit, and of course, lots of scarecrows. It’s family-friendly, super welcoming, and honestly just a good time for anyone who loves fall and a bit of small-town magic.

After the parade, the family festival gets rolling with food, games, entertainment, and activities for kids of all ages. You can expect face painting, contests, live performances, and maybe even a few surprise guests. Local vendors and community groups also set up shop, so there’s plenty to explore and enjoy.

We’re the wildly creative crew behind the Meaford Scarecrow Invasion & Family Festival — a community-powered celebration that brings straw-filled joy to life every fall! Our mission? To make Meaford unforgettably awesome by blending art, agriculture, community spirit, and a whole lot of scarecrow magic.

Every year, starting months in advance, our volunteers go full-on DIY mode—designing, building, painting, and prepping hundreds (yes, hundreds!) of scarecrows that take over downtown Meaford and surrounding areas. It’s a town-wide glow-up, and everyone gets in on it—schools, businesses, families, and local groups.

What We Do Year-Round

This event isn’t just a one-and-done. Behind the scenes, we’re constantly:

Engaging volunteers and local partners

Working with schools to get students involved

Raising funds and awareness

Creating community connections that last all year
