Learn to swing dance, hang out, enjoy the music, and meet new friends! No partner required, no dance experience required! Everyone is welcome! :)
We start out each social dance with a 1-hour beginner Lindy Hop lesson. We start from the basics and rotate partners during this part. After the lesson, we have an open dance floor, featuring Beyond Brass, and DJed swing jazz music during band breaks.
A social dance is a place to have fun, make new friends and create, and share special connections with each partner. On the social dance floor we are safe and free to truly express ourselves. We want an atmosphere that encourages everyone’s personality to shine, free of any judgement, or criticism. We believe that there is no right way to dance, only a way to dance.
We will provide water in the kitchen adjacent to the courtroom. Other refreshments will be available by donation.
Attire: There is no “wrong” way to dress at a dance—we just ask that you bring clean shoes. We would also recommend comfy sneakers; heels might not be that comfortable as Lindy Hop can be very energetic. This is also a great dance for dressing up, but remember, it may be warm!
We do not tolerate or allow alcohol.
We love beginners!

Entry to this dance is free. We accept donations, which will be split evenly between Lindy in the Loops and Beyond Brass.

Lindy in the Loops
Lindy in the Loops teaches authentic Lindy Hop, Charleston, and related dances in Kamloops and area. We believe anyone can dance, and we love to welcome new dancers! We regularly host social dances and lessons, perform at events around town, and collaborate on workshops and live band nights.
For Culture Days, we're thrilled to be collaborating with Beyond Brass! They are a fantastic big band, with a repertoire that spans from the swing era to modern music, and are regulars at Music in the Park and other local events.
