About
From September 5 - October 24, MAWA is hosting a members’ showcase and sale entitled Chroma. 108 MAWA members are showing an artwork on the theme of colour.
Colour moves us, inspires us, draws us in. Our ability to see colours is partially a survival skill and partially pure pleasure. Their names are among the first words we learn. We find ourselves drawn to certain hues and repelled by others. Our responses are biological, cultural and personal. Colours embody emotion and mood, and symbolize allegiance to everything from nationalism to brands to sports teams. Colour can animate and colour can soothe.
Chroma will showcase the creativity and diversity of MAWA members. Many of the works are be for sale, with all proceeds going to the artists.
