The festival will RE:IMAGINE the content that is shared with attendees and produce videos highlighting the stories of cultural pavilions that have a longstanding history of festival participation.

The “Cultural Pavilion Stories” series touches on topics of anti-racism, reconciliation, immigration and diversity. Pavilions will share the story of how they began participating in the Surrey Fusion Festival, what they have learned from the event and some of their favourite festival memories.

The videos showcase how food, music and culture will be shared to bridge the gap between cultures, promote greater intercultural understanding and decrease racism within the City.

Surrey Fusion Festival

Surrey Fusion Festival  is the ultimate celebration of food, music and culture. Festival organizers are proud to work with communities representing different ethnicities and cultures from around the world and honour the traditions and history that they share with attendees. Since the festival’s inception in 2008, the event has grown to showcase over 50 different cultures, with pavilions offering international foods, displays of artefacts and textiles, and multiple stages featuring musical and dance performances.

It is the festival’s mandate to provide ample opportunities for attendees to learn and engage with different cultural activities during the event, including participating in dance lessons, learning how to cook cultural cuisine, and learning about local businesses and not-for-profit organizations. The festival has something for everyone and provides attendees with a safe space to try new cuisine, experience and learn about other cultures, and spend time with friends and family.
