About

In this three-hour poetry class, students will explore the prose poem as a form of poetry that uses the lyric techniques of poetry without the use of line breaks. Leaps and shifts occur between sentences. This is a flexible form that allows for play, narration, the surreal, internal rhyme and rhythm and surprise. Students will have the opportunity to read fine examples of prose poems, write their own poems based on models and prompts, and share. This class is for anyone interested in exploring the elasticity of this form. Open to all writers, this is a free workshop, with limited registration.

Presented by Yvonne Blomer and Cynthia Woodman Kerkham.
