Step into the past this Culture Days!
Join us at the Adelaide Hunter Hoodless Homestead for “A Day in the Life – Brant County, 1850”, a free, interactive experience for all ages. Roll up your sleeves and try your hand at traditional chores—churn butter, tackle wash day, practice writing with quill and ink, and discover the skills it took to run a rural homestead.
Pick up your visitor “passport” and explore at your own pace as you move through hands-on stations, meet costumed interpreters, and hear stories of everyday life in the 19th century. Complete a few activities to earn your reward and the title of “Junior Homesteader”!
No schedules, no lectures—just history you can touch, try, and experience together.

The Adelaide Hunter Hoodless Homestead, owned and operated by the FWIC, strives to preserve, protect and interpret the story of Adelaide, the Women's Institute and the rural domestic experience of 19th century Brant County.
Our mission is to provide access to and encourage participation in, cultural and educational resources which enrich the lives of our community. Year round we hope to inspire positive social change and learning, by the sharing the story of one woman’s remarkable drive and dedication to making the world a better place.
