About
The Brockville Museum's art gallery space currently features two dozen works by local 20th century artists, Robert H. Lindsay, Katrina Buell, Robert Wright, and Thomas Hare. The works are from the museum’s extensive art collection, which has rarely had the opportunity to be displayed.
Lindsay and Buell were students, and later teachers, at the Brockville Art School, which operated between 1886 and 1898. The school attracted and trained hundreds of students leaving a unique artistic legacy in Brockville. Buell went on to become a leading figure of the Women’s Art Association, mixing with members of the Group of Seven and Emily Carr. Lindsay, meanwhile, had a prolific career in Brockville, and continued to teach; Wright and Hare were both students of Lindsay.
Please visit the museum's website for current hours of operation. Admission is by donation.
