About
Rohita’s painting practice explores the deep connections between people, place, and cultural identity, moving fluidly between the familiar landscapes of Oakville and scenes drawn from global celebrations, historical sites, and everyday labour.
Working across these themes, she captures the emotional resonance of place—whether through the quiet beauty of local scenery, the vibrant energy of cultural rituals, the layered histories embedded in architectural landmarks, or the enduring rhythms of farming and fishing. Her work is grounded in close observation, rich colour, and a reflective approach that invites viewers to consider how memory, heritage, and environment shape our understanding of the world.
This fall, she will share insights into her creative process and thematic explorations during her 2026 art talk at Trafalgar Park Community Centre.
