Nirkoda Israeli Dancers of Toronto,Elad Shtamer and Ronit Eizenman
Nirkoda Israeli Dancers celebrates Israeli and Jewish cultures through dance and is the only Israeli performance troupe in Ontario. Since 2001, Nirkoda has represented the Jewish/Israeli community at multicultural events in Cannada and abroad. At Jewish community events, Nirkoda enhances the Israeli culture component. Nirkoda is directed by Ronit Eizenman who is also it's principal choreographer and is supported by congregation Darchei Noam.
Elad Shtamer is an award-winning Israeli folk dance choreographer and community leader.
He directs RikuDance in Toronto, inspiring dancers of all levels with creative weekly and monthly sessions.
A versatile musician and guitarist, he performs and teachesacross Jewish and world-music traditions.
Elad blends music, movement and culture to build vibrant connections across generations.
His passions shines through every class, concert and community celebration he leads.
Ronit Eizenman is an Israeli dance specialist and an educator. through her teaching and volunteer work she motivated thousands of youths and adults to participate in a variety of dance and cultural programs in Toronto. For more than 2 decades she served as the artistic director of the annual children’s dance festival in Toronto (Rikudiyah) and was instrumental (co-founder) in creating the Dor LeDor program, an intergenerational dance program that is part of the festival. In her work, Ronit Eizenman promotes cross-cultural partnerships and multicultural activities, believing that this is the best way to build bridges between diverse communities. She believes that multicultural festivals serve as peaceful meeting places where connections between communities and individuals are created, and mutual respect is built. At the celebration of the International Women’s Day 2022 in Toronto, Ronit received a lifetime achievement award for her “remarkable achievements and tireless efforts for more than 25 years in the fields of performing arts as an Israeli dance specialist, educator and volunteer and for the central role that she has played in bringing Israeli culture to local and international audiences”. In 2023, Ronit received the Jewish community award for outstanding contribution to Jewish Culture and Life in Toronto.
