About

The Pocket Gallery is a small exhibit space in Clifford Carl Hall, on the main floor of the Royal BC Museum. Currently celebrating the 15th anniversary of Rifflandia Festival, the gallery highlights performers who use their voices to speak out on urgent issues—from climate justice and gender equality to political resistance. A companion to the museum’s feature exhibition Beyond the Beat: Music of Resistance and Change, the display explores the power of music to challenge the status quo and spark action.

Established in 2008, Rifflandia Festival is one of the longest running large-scale music and arts festivals in Western Canada. With truly eclectic lineups featuring top international and national acts alongside new and emerging artists, the festival has hosted such musical icons as Iggy Pop, Run The Jewels, Lorde, Moby, Charli XCX, Post Malone, Courtney Love, Paris Hilton, and so many more.
