About

NOTE: This is a drop-in event. RSVPs are not required, but if you RSVP you will be reminded of the event details.

Loom-Unity: Creating Community Together will be a collaborative drop-in weaving project that will explore how the tapestry of community develops and evolves around a common project or event. This is an all ages and abilities event that will run From Saturday, September 21 through Sunday, September 29 where people of all ages and abilities will have the opportunity to weave a small section of a larger tapestry while meeting and conversing with others. Though guided by the colour of materials provided, participants will have relative free rein when adding to tapestry which will record the creative evolution of the community that comes together to create. The tapestry will then remain on display for all to appreciate.

Organizer

Qualicum Weavers and Spinners Guild

The Qualicum Weavers and Spinners Guild has been part of the Oceanside artisan community since 1991. The guild evolved from a small group of students of noted local weaver Elaine Duncan to a supportive community of more than 70 fibre artists with a dedicated studio space serving the Oceanside area on Vancouver Island.

We promote fibre arts through information sharing, demonstrations, and workshops and are part of the Oceanside Community Arts Council
