About

Join author Dennis Hawkins-Bogle for a reading from The Blue Taffeta Party Dress & Other Stories, a moving collection of autobiographical stories that traces his journey from growing up gay in rural British Columbia to becoming the principal of the high school he once attended. Through moments of humour, heartbreak, resilience, and hope, Dennis explores identity, belonging, and the courage to live authentically. More than a coming-of-age story, this is a powerful reflection on choosing compassion, community, and joy in the face of adversity.
