About
2021 marks the 40th anniversary of the Lady Slipper Rug Hooking Guild. They are marking the occasion with an exhibit of 54 works of art featured in the gallery of the Lefurgey Cultural Centre. Members have hooked designs adopted from the paintings of Maude Lewis, Elaine Harrison, Joan MacGillivary, and Klimt, as well as original rug hooking designs by Linda Marchbank, Deanna Fitzpatrick and others.
The exhibit also pays tribute to the remaining founding member of the guild, Joan MacGillivary, who turned 90 in May 2021, and is still an active guild member, rug hooker and painter.
The Now and Then exhibit is open weekdays from 9 am to 4:30 pm in the Lefurgey Cultural Centre, 205 Prince Street in Summerside.
