We hope to see you at this special event next Saturday, September 21st. The allocation of Town funds ($5,000) that were approved by Council for this celebration, are being spent on the procurement, planting, and maintenance of three Garry Oaks, at the corner of Park Road and First Avenue West.
The other groups participating with displays at this event include Qualicum Beach Streamkeepers, Arrowsmith Naturalists, the Brown Property Preservation Society, Mount Arrowsmith Biosphere Region, and the Hamilton Wetlands & Forest Preservation Society.

In 2019 , a small group of residents became concerned about the increased pace of the development and the accelerating loss of healthy, mature trees. Friends of the Qualicum Beach Forest was formed to advocate for tree protection measures in Qualicum Beach.
The Urban Forest Master Plan, which was then underway, was adopted by Council and is undergoing implementation. Tree Protection Bylaw #723 was adopted in 2023. In addition to making representations to Council we have organized multiple work parties to tackle ivy in the Community Forest and will be Celebrating Trees in conjunction with National Forest Week.
