About

Script Read

Don't miss this chance to listen in (or even join in!) on this script read of a play from Georgetown Little Theatre's 2024-2025 season. Written and directed by our very own Anthony Deciantis, "Saturday at 7" is full of intrigue and mystery.

In 1955 rural Ontario, Julia Arden is tired of the fast-paced celebrity lifestyle that first attracted her to her famous author husband, Steven. She's ready to settle down, have children, and enjoy a quieter life. But what is she to do if Steven neither shares this mindset, nor wishes to grant her a divorce? Why, she and Michael; her lover, must get rid of him! And executing the perfect murder is exactly what they are planning to do... Saturday at 7.

Georgetown Little Theatre Productions Inc. 60 Years & Beyond

Georgetown Little Theatre had its beginning in an amateur theatricals evening class that was held at the Georgetown District High School during the winter/spring of 1959-60. As a grand finale, the members of the evening class staged a one-act play called The Mayor of Torontal. This enthusiastic group formed the nucleus of what was to become Georgetown Little Theatre (GLT).

Rehearsals for the first full length play, Dirty Work at the Crossroads, started in October 1960 and the play was presented in February 1961 at Wrigglesworth School. From 1962 to 1969 plays were presented in the Georgetown District High School auditorium. Returning to Wigglesworth School, the group performed from 1969 to the spring of 1979 when they moved to Sacre Coeur Hall until 1981.
