About
Creativity has no borders. It is not restricted to a place or time.
Join artist Mary Kroetsch at Riverside Park's green picnic shelter and engage in small talk by completing the sentence “Creativity is...” with a single word scribed in any fashion. Then using supplied tools, make the word scream loudly with any kind of mark making. Consider beautiful words made ugly and ugly words made beautiful.
The aim of this activity is to offer a safe place and space for participants, plus a little time, to share something that a simple three word sentence can say, empowering community to redefine a public space as a creative-led conversation forum.
Conversation not only conveys and sparks ideas but also enthusiasm and passion. Everyone's experiences, expertise, and opinions are unique. Sharing them with others can foster a creative environment. And a creative environment is open and welcoming to many people coming together for a brief moment of understanding, tolerance and unity.
The “Creativity Is” sentences will provide inspiration for a future installation at Guelph Civic Museum.

Guelph Museums and Culture exists to:
* Collect and protect artifacts, artworks and stories that reflect our community
* Share the collections and stories − locally, nationally and internationally − through exhibition, interpretation, and online access
* Provide inclusive, accessible, interactive, and enlightening experiences
* Nurture interest and engagement in history, art and culture
* Cultivate a connection to place, with focus on the tangible and intangible cultural landscape unique to Guelph
Guelph Museums and Culture is pleased to commission this activation for Culture Days in support of our local artists and in service of our local community and beyond.
In Guelph we’re grounded in community and our deep connection to the environment. We look out for one another, celebrate our diversity and smile at each other in the streets. We are leaders who shape tomorrow. We tackle local and global challenges through innovation, art and action. And we’re committed to inclusive prosperity – because together, we’re stronger.
