About
I aim to teach for success and run pottery courses at the entry to intermediate level. There are many ways to construct, to glaze and to fire clay objects and there is always skill building attached to each project I teach. During this Culture Day demo, I will be working on a primitive fired piece using the pinch-pot hand-building method. I will have samples to show the fun and experimental pre-firing stage of burnished pottery, and will demonstrate how the final buff with furniture polish produces a soft subtle glow to our one-of-a-kind earthy primitive-fired pot. So come and get your hands into some clay and work alongside me to learn a little about this highly addictive and ancient craft.
