About

A Glen Williams Bicentennial Event in the Town of Halton Hills: Honouring History, Celebrating Community!

Trish Somerville will demonstrate sock making using an antique Creelman sock knitter, manufactured in Georgetown. These table-top knitter were marketed to housewives to use at their kitchen table to generate some extra income for the family. Sockmakers in this area were able to sell their products to the Glen Williams woollen mills for resale.

Step back in time and experience the artistry of local traditional craftsmanship.
