About
Families will visit an outdoor installation of "Hats’adän echo (Elder’s teachings)," (2020) by artist Krystle Silverfox on the public-facing windows of the Evergreen Cultural Centre. Inspired by this digital collage artwork, families will create a three-dimensional collage and experiment with layering a variety of materials, including transparent papers, beads and other items. Families are encouraged to think about their identity and the places they are connected to, near and far, and allow these relationships to inspire their own unique creation.
Please note that masks are recommended in all indoor spaces.

Evergreen Cultural Centre
Situated on the shores of Lafarge Lake in Town Centre Park, Evergreen Cultural Centre (ECC) exists on the unceded, traditional and ancestral core territory of the kʷikʷəƛ̓əm (Kwikwetlem) First Nations, which lie within the shared territories of the səli̓ lwətaɁɬ təməxʷ (Tsleil-Waututh), S’ólh Téméxw (Stó:lō), qiqéyt (Qayqayt) and sq̓əc̓iy̓aɁɬ təməxʷ (Katzie), xʷməθkwəy̓əm (Musqueam) and Sḵwx̱wú7mesh Úxwumixw (Squamish) nations in the region known today as the Tri-Cities. Described by the City of Coquitlam as the “cultural jewel in Coquitlam’s Town Centre”, Evergreen Cultural Centre is the premiere venue for live arts events, exhibitions, and experiences in the Tri-Cities. We offer a thrilling season of over 50 performing arts presentations annually in our Studio Theatre, alongside contemporary art exhibitions from artists of all mediums in the Art Gallery at Evergreen. We are dedicated to creating an inclusive and accessible community gathering place and invite visitors to immerse themselves in the magic of live performance and visual art.
