Prairie Wires' Quiet Concerts v1.0
Prairie Wires has partnered with the Brandon Public Library to present Quiet Concerts, originally conceived as a unique in person concert inviting the audience to bring their own headphones to the Library and relax while enjoying an afternoon of experimental electronic music performance. Covid-19 has created an opportunity for us to bring this unique concert experience to you wherever you are. Quiet Concerts will livestream five performances on Facebook Live, YouTube Live and Twitch every Sunday at 7:00pm beginning September 27 through October 25. *There will be no concert on Thanksgiving Sunday, October 11. This event has been made possible with the financial assistance of the Brandon Neighbourhood Renewal Corporation and the Manitoba Arts Council.
This event is free.
Prairie Wires in partnership with The Brandon Public Library
Prairie Wires was established in 2019 to create new opportunities in central Canada to appreciate, perform and present artists working in sound-based art and experimental electronic music. With a strong focus on modular synthesis, events are a mix of curated and open-call participatory, strengthening ties between communities and providing opportunities for artists, musicians and enthusiasts to share knowledge, network and collaborate. The mission of the Western Manitoba Regional Library is to enrich lives and strengthen communities by providing universal access to broad and diverse collections of resources, spaces and services relevant and responsive to community needs. The Brandon Public Library serves as the headquarters for the WMRL and its four rural branches in the communities of Carberry, Neepawa, Glenboro and Hartney.
