Kick off the Moon Festival’s main day! Enjoy a relaxed afternoon of performances and activities in Slocan Park. Listen to local music, create a lantern for the upcoming parade, purchase creations by local artisans, and enjoy a light dinner of harvest soup and snacks from local eateries.

Activities: lantern workshop, face-painting, lantern contest & more!
-> Twilight Lantern Procession
6:45 PM (Sunset) - 7:05 PM starting from Slocan Park, and ending at Renfrew Community Park
Walk with colourful puppets and performers among surprising sounds and sights. We invite you to carry a lantern with you! The procession leads from the Harvest Fair to Streamside Lanterns, following the Renfrew Ravine and Still Creek.
Performers: Coastal Wolfpack | Noelle Lee | Singing Mamas
Labyrinth: As the procession passes the Renfrew Ravine labyrinth, you may choose to linger to walk the labyrinth and listen to the music of Teapot in the Tuba before continuing to Streamside Lanterns at Renfrew Community Park. Teapot in the Tuba will perform at the labyrinth from 6:00 – 8:00 PM, stop by anytime, including before and after the procession.
-> Labyrinth Performance: Theatre of the Moon by Teapot in the Tuba and Annie Lefebvre
6:00 PM - 8:00 PM at Renfrew Ravine Laybrinth
Theatre of the Moon is a song cycle written for and under the influence of summer full moons over the course of the past 3 years. The compositions pulse with celestial sounds and two of the pieces feature theatrical narrative sections with excerpted text from Ital Calvino’s short story Distance to the Moon and Paul Scheerbart’s Lesabéndio. French Canadian actor/clown Annie Lefebvre joins Katheryn Petersen and Mike WT Allen of Teapot in the Tuba for this luminous performance. Stop by the Renfrew Ravine Laybinth any time between 6-8pm to enjoy the performance!
Performers: Teapot in the Tuba, Annie Lefebvre
