Organizer

Yorkton Indigenous Friendship Centre

The Yorkton Indigenous Friendship Centre (YIFC) is a community-based, non-profit organization dedicated to supporting and empowering Indigenous people living in Yorkton and the surrounding area. Our vision is to foster a strong, healthy, and inclusive community where Indigenous cultures, traditions, and identities are celebrated, respected, and shared.

Year-round, YIFC provides culturally grounded programs and services that promote wellness, education, family support, youth engagement, elder involvement, and community connection. Our programming includes cultural workshops, traditional teachings, language and arts activities, health and wellness initiatives, women's and family programming, youth leadership opportunities, food security programs, community celebrations, and partnerships with local organizations to address the diverse needs of our community.

We are committed to creating safe, welcoming, and inclusive spaces where Indigenous people can reconnect with culture, build meaningful relationships, and access resources that support their physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual well-being. Through collaboration, cultural revitalization, and community engagement, YIFC continues to strengthen relationships between Indigenous and non-Indigenous communities while honouring the traditions, resilience, and knowledge of First Nations, Métis, and Inuit peoples.

The event we are proposing aligns directly with our year-round commitment to cultural education, community wellness, and creating opportunities for people of all ages to gather, learn, and celebrate Indigenous culture in an inclusive and welcoming environment.
