About

Queer Peers is a peer support meeting facilitated by Pflag Halton. All young people aged 12-18 are welcome to drop in at any gathering, with no registration required. This space will offer various activities, crafts, special guests, and general support for anyone queer, questioning, or who wants to be an ally. Please note that all people in the library are expected to abide by our Public Code of Conduct. Any form of discrimination and/or harassment will not be tolerated under any circumstances.

Peer support is a model of care where someone with lived experience listens and validates another person’s experiences and helps to empower that individual to make choices that are right for them about how to navigate the challenges they face. Consent-based and peer-driven, peer support has been shown to positively impact an individual’s health and wellness.

The Milton Public Library has been an integral part of the Milton community since 1855. It currently serves a population of more than 110,000 through three physical libraries and the MPL website.

Every week, over 7,000 people come through the Library's doors (at Main, Sherwood, and Beaty) to enjoy our services, programs and collections, in addition to the more than 6,000 who visit us online.

The Milton Public Library empowers the community to: Read. Learn. Create. Connect. Each year we offer a wide variety of programs and services, including special programs for children, teens, adults and the multicultural and business communities.
