About

On display for the month of October in the Joyner Gallery of Niagara Pumphouse Arts Centre are works on linen and duralar, resulting from the artist's travels in the high Arctic. Janet Read explores the fragility and transcendent beauty of the high Arctic region through work that interprets the landscape in contemporary painterly language.

One curator said that, "Read's works are like landscapes of consciousness that metaphorically interpret various states of being of the natural world." Meet the artist in person during her opening reception on October 15th, from 2-4 pm.

Niagara Pumphouse Arts Centre

The Niagara Pumphouse Arts Centre is the art hub that connects our community by providing art for all. Located on the banks of the Niagara River in a heritage building that formerly supplied water to Niagara-on-the-Lake (hence our name); the Niagara Pumphouse Arts Centre offers visual arts programs, exhibitions and events. We give back to the community by providing access to the arts for those in need.
