About
In the tradition of the six-hour Date Movie that premiered at the Richmond Cultural Centre during Culture Days 2023, this one-hour movie mashup features 456 clips from 222 different films, representing countries and languages around the globe, spanning the entire history of film as it makes its way through the 24 hours of the day.
Whether you watch two minutes or the whole hour, you will be treated to a dizzying array of human experiences and emotions. A celebration of the movies, but more than that — a contemplation of what goes on in our world at any given moment, every day and all through the night.
This screening marks the world premiere of TimePiece, a tribute to renowned video artist Christian Marclay and his masterwork The Clock (2010), a 24-hour montage which won the Golden Lion at the 2011 Venice Biennale and has been exhibited continually since that time in major galleries around the world. TimePiece uses only clips which are not featured in Marclay's work.
TimePiece is also available with the original soundtrack on YouTube, or by contacting the artist via email, details and links below.
